Research on the Mechanism and Effects of Industrial Internet Platform Empowering Digital Innovation Resilience

Abstract: Digital innovation resilience constitutes a core capability for enterprises to with⁃ stand technological and market volatility and sustain long-term innovation activities. As core in⁃ frastructure enabling deep integration between digital technologies and the manufacturing sector, industrial internet platforms serve as a vital vehicle for fostering corporate digital innovation re⁃ silience.This study selects Shanghai and Shenzhen A-share listed companies from 2011 to 2024 as research samples and constructs a micro panel dataset by integrating corporate annual report texts and financial data. Machine learning in text mining and the entropy weight method are ad⁃ opted to quantify enterprises' application levels of industrial internet platforms. A two-way fixed-effects model is constructed for baseline regression, while robustness and endogeneity con⁃ cerns are addressed through core variable replacement, lagged explanatory variables, and the in⁃ strumental variable method. A stepwise regression mediation model is applied to verify the medi⁃ ating roles of knowledge absorptive capacity and financing constraints, followed by grouped re⁃ gressions based on enterprise property rights, industry categories, and regional divisions to com⁃ pare heterogeneous effects across contexts. Empirical results verify that industrial internet plat⁃ forms can significantly strengthen corporate digital innovation resilience, and this core finding remains robust after multiple rounds of testing. Mechanism analysis reveals two enabling chan⁃ nels: first, cross-enterprise digital knowledge-sharing networks expand access to technologies and enhance enterprises' knowledge absorption and transformation capabilities to guarantee con⁃ sistent R&D operations; second, operational data accumulated on platforms mitigate information asymmetry in investment and financing, easing financing constraints on R&D capital supply, with both mediating paths statistically significant. Heterogeneity results indicate that the positive promotional effect of platforms on digital innovation resilience is more pronounced among stateowned enterprises, non-manufacturing firms, and western-region enterprises. Such differentia⁃ tion stems from disparities in corporate resource endowments, industrial digital transformation potential, and regional supportive policies for digital industries. The research findings carry prominent theoretical innovation value and practical implications. Theoretically, this paper incor⁃ porates industrial internet platforms into the analytical framework of digital innovation resil⁃ ience, expands research boundaries for platform economics and innovation risk management, and clarifies the internal logic whereby digital platforms stabilize corporate innovation. Practi⁃ cally, the conclusions can guide enterprises of all types to leverage industrial internet platforms to boost risk resistance in innovation and pursue sustainable, high-quality innovation. Mean⁃ while, they provide empirical evidence and decision-making references for local governments to hierarchically deploy industrial internet infrastructure and formulate targeted supportive policies for digital innovation.
