Green and Low-carbon Performance Evaluation and Regional Disparity Analysis of Agricultural Listed Enterprises

Abstract: This study takes Chinese agricultural listed enterprises from 2012 to 2021 as the research object and constructs a three-dimensional evaluation index system comprising eco⁃ nomic performance, green performance, and low-carbon performance. In terms of research meth⁃ ods, the entropy weight method is first employed to comprehensively measure the green and lowcarbon performance of agricultural listed enterprises. On this basis, the Dagum Gini coefficient and its decomposition method are further applied to analyze overall regional differences, intraregional differences, inter-regional differences, and the sources of transvariation density. Addi⁃ tionally, the Kernel density estimation method is used to examine the dynamic evolution charac⁃ teristics and distribution trends of the green and low-carbon performance of agricultural listed enterprises.The research results show that: ①From 2012 to 2021, the overall green and lowcarbon performance of Chinese agricultural listed enterprises exhibited a fluctuating upward trend, indicating that the level of green and low-carbon development has generally improved. However, the overall level remains low, leaving substantial room for improvement. From a re⁃ gional perspective, the overall performance of agricultural listed enterprises in the eastern region is significantly higher than that in the central and western regions, underscoring prominent re⁃ gional development imbalances. ②The Dagum Gini coefficient results reveal that the overall dis⁃ parity in green and low-carbon performance among agricultural listed enterprises is relatively large and shows a widening trend. Among the sources of disparity, transvariation density is a ma⁃ jor contributor, suggesting strong cross-regional overlap and interaction. ③The Kernel density estimation results demonstrate that the distribution of green and low-carbon performance among agricultural listed enterprises has shifted from relative convergence to polarization. Although the eastern region exhibits a higher overall level of green and low-carbon development, the perfor⁃ mance gap between enterprises within this region remains large. Based on the above findings, this study suggests strengthening inter-regional collaboration on green technologies and resource sharing to facilitate the cross-regional diffusion of green and low-carbon technologies; reinforcing the position of agricultural listed enterprises as the main drivers of green innovation and increasing investment in green technology R&D; and providing targeted guidance and support to low- and medium-performing enterprises to steadily raise the overall level of the overall green and low-carbon performance.
